Big Girl Bed

Image
With Kayley turning two and Lana needing the crib pretty soon, we decided it was time for Kayley to get a big girl bed. We took her to the store and got a cute toddler bed and new sheets. This bed got a lot of hype. We were constantly talking to her about how exciting and wonderful it was to get a big girl bed. She got to be there when we set it up, helped put the sheets on, and picked out her blanket. She had a hard time transitioning day one. However, on day two she not only took a full nap in her bed, but she slept there all night too! She did fall out during the night, but she didn't even cry or anything; she just got up, crawled back in bed, and went to sleep! She now is sleeping in her new bed like a champ. We're so proud of our big girl. And now there's room in the crib for Lana! She's also getting very big and it is definitely time for her to leave mom and dad's room! As you can see, Kayley is a wonderful big sister, and we're sure these two wi...

Kayley's Birthday!

Image
On August 21, Kayley turned 2! She is growing so fast. We remember thinking she looked big when she turned  one ! Since Kayley's favorite thing to watch (and sing) is Winnie-the-Pooh, we chose that as a theme for her party. Kayley loves to sing the "candle song" (aka-Happy Birthday), so it was very exciting for it to finally be her turn to get sung to!  For games we played "Pin-the-tail-on-the-Eeyore." Here's Aunt Charity taking her turn.  Our blindfold wasn't working, so the adults (like Aunt Arika) just closed there eyes Will is probably wondering why his dad is covering his eyes and kneeling on the floor in front of the wall :) The final results! No one got it right on, so Kayley's got moved to the right spot Eeyore could get his tail back. Aunt Charity got the closest just below It also happened to be Stansbury Park days, so they had fireworks that night "just for Kayley!" It was a awesome show and Kayley lo...

Swimmin' Soup

Image
Katie's brother Christian came for a visit the other week. We decided it was the perfect time to check out our community pool! Kayley donned her "swimmin' soup," and off we went. It was so much fun! We really had a blast.   The water in the kiddie pool was shallow enough that Kayley could float her legs and walk with her hands along the bottom.  Christian liked the diving boards the best  Lana's always so sweet to put up with all our adventures  that she can't participate in yet  It was so fun to watch Kayley and Christian play together. Her face would light up when (in between dives) he would come splash and float with her It's such a fun little pool and only five minutes from our house! We were a little bummed to discover it at the end of the season (it's only open from memorial day to labor day), but we will definitely make good use of it next summer! Then Lana can join in too :)
