Once Upon a Summer...

Image
Once upon a summer the Barton family moved to Salt Lake City to do an internship. This was the first time since its formation that the Barton family had not been enrolled in school for the summer! We tried to do just about everything, and pretty much accomplished that goal. Now we are back in good ol' Rexburg. There are lots of great things about being back, even though we do miss spending so much time with our families. One of the first things our friends and neighbors in Rexburg said when they saw Kayley again was, "Wow, she's really tan!" When we look back on all we did this summer, it's easy to see why! (As a side note, our camera was dead all summer with no sign of the charger anywhere, so we are missing quite a few pictures. All the ones we do have, we have borrowed from family--thanks family!) I. DUDE THATS NOTHIN-MINI GOLF EDITION The summer started out with another great video from Jeff and his brother Derek (if you've yet to see the original...

Patriotism and a Picture Re-Do

Image
First: Patriotism Kayley got a cute 4th of July outfit from Grandma Merilee. Here she is ready to celebrate the USA! She loved waving the flag :)  Next: the picture re-do When Kayley was 2 weeks old, we put her and her cute cousins in matching ballet outfits As you can see, Kayley is a little too small for hers. She is also too young to do anything but sit all squished in the corner of the couch. Now, 10 months later, she fits! (and can pose for the camera)   We love watching her grow!

Bear Lake Trip

It's been two years since the LAST time we went to Bear Lake. Back then we were newlyweds; this time we got to bring our cute baby :) We had such a fun trip! Kayley, our little water girl, had a blast playing in the lake. But don't take our word for it, you can see for yourself! We had such a fun trip! Sorry there aren't any pictures, our camera battery is dead and the charger is missing :(

Summer Fun!

It's been a while since we've done a post, but we've had a lot going on, the biggest of which has been a move to Utah for the summer! Jeff got an internship in Salt Lake till the beginning of September, so we're living with his parents for the summer. We are having a blast living by so much family. Jeff loves his internship and is getting to learn and do so much. We also celebrated Katie's birthday on June 1st. It was such a fun day. We went to Red Robin with the Cooper's (and some cousins) to celebrate One of the best parts of summer weather has been getting to take Kayley outside. She loves it! These next couple pictures were taken by our dear sister Arika. You can check out other work HERE . She's amazing! Kayley is such a fun, pleasant little girl. She's always happy and smiling. We love our little girl! Kayley loves to crawl over and play the piano. She can do it all by herself and is very proud of it :) Sweet girl

Water Baby!

Image
Last week, our neighbor's little boy Dalyn turned two. To celebrate, his parents rented an indoor pool and had a big pool party! Kayley had never been swimming before, so we were excited to see how she'd like it. All ready to go! First dip in the water Hey! This is pretty fun! Swimming with dad We had such a fun time! Kayley loved being in the water. The baby pool was shallow enough that her toes touched the ground when she was in her float. She would walk around, kick her legs, and splash like crazy! By the time it was all over, she was pretty tired from all the fun. Now that we know she loves the water, we can't wait to go swimming more this summer!

A Potpourri Post

Hello all, with a flurry of events taking place recently, we have all sorts of things to post about. First up, Kayley has been striving for mobility. The process has been fun, and over the past few months, she has really gotten the knack of crawling, as seen in the following. Alright! Way to go Kayley! Along with learning to crawl, she is also learning to use her voice. Next are some events of the late winter early spring. Jeff celebrated his birthday. As seen in the traditional rice krispy treat, he is now 24 years old! Jeff has always loved dogs so he was all over the opportunity to hold a puppy that was for sale at the annual Rexburg "Snow Fest." Next, as you may have seen elsewhere, we had a wedding in the family!  Alex and Jodi were married on the 19th of March, and it was a beautiful wedding. Here is Alex and Jodi at the luncheon, they shared some really nice thoughts about the day and one another Zach also shared some fun memories, as well as thoughts on the day ...
