Time for an update!

This has been a crazy semester for both of us. Jeff has been doing IBC in school. That is where a group of about 25 students take out a loan and run a business for the semester and see if they can make a profit--while still going to classes and doing homework! Talk about a busy guy! Katie started working part time at a call center, then for the month of June she worked as a paraprofessional (aide) in a summer school classroom as well. Summer school was a wonderful opportunity for Katie to get to use her degree and was a great experience for her.

Now let's rewind and see some of what's been going on, starting with April 10th and Katie's graduation!

Congratulations Katie!

April 11th was our 1 year anniversary! It has been the greatest year of our lives. So much has happened that time just flew by.

April 11th, 2009

Our family began!

We did save our cake top for the whole year. It wasn't too bad for year old cake :)

"The Prophet said to plant a garden, so that's what we'll do," is the primary song we were humming as we started our very first, personal garden! We took three plastic storage bins from Wal-Mart, drilled holes in the bottom, filled them with rocks and dirt, threw in some seeds, and voila! We have a garden! Despite a couple freezing Rexburg nights, our garden has survived!

We have four broccoli plants, but we only took pictures of these two because we already harvested off the other two. Fresh broccoli is delicious!
(We also have carrots and beets in this bin)

Our zucchini is thriving! Next to the zucchini is our cucumber plant. We started from seeds, so it's taking forever to grow. Next time we'll get one that's already been started.

And Jeff's pride and joy ... his tomatoes! This is the biggest one. He is looking forward to having a ready supply fresh tomatoes on hand.

Finally, some pregnant belly pictures. We are so excited for our little girl to join our family. Our due date is Aug. 18th--only one month from Sunday!

Well, that's it for this post! Until next time.

  2. Fun to see your garden growing and Katie's belly too! We're sure excited for #20 in our family and #6 grandchild to arrive in August.
