The Barton Musical just got a little more musical

Here's our Kayley singing her most favorite: "Christopher Robin's Song" And just for fun, here's a picture of Kayley and Lana when they were both about a month old. They have their own unique look, but you can definitely tell they're sisters :)

Lagoon!

Image
Jeff's brother and sister-in-law, Kurt and Katie (and their cute boys), came to visit last Friday (from their home in Boston), so we decided to take a trip to Lagoon together! Grandma Merilee, Arika, Derek and Nikki (and their kids) came too. We had a blast! It happened to be our Stake Lagoon Day, so it was free to just walk in and not go on rides. Since we had all the kiddos, the adults got free "walk-in" passes and we only got ride passes for the little ones. It was Kayley's first time riding rides of any sort, so we were interested to see how she'd like it. Turns out we didn't need to worry; she loved it! First ride of the day-- Bulgy the Whale The classic boats. Jeff has memories of riding these boats with his cousins when he was little. It's fun for Kayley to be able to share the same memories.  Kayley  loves  to drive. Every time we pull into the driveway she yells, "drive! drive!" Having a car of her own was a dream come tru...

The Newest Member of the Barton Clan!

Well, our due date came and went - as did a few more days. Finally, on June 11th, it was time for our little girl to come! After a visit with our doctor, we drove to the hospital where they broke Katie's water to get things started. Get started they did! Just three hours later we had a baby! Things happened so fast, the doctor didn't make it in time and our fabulous nurse caught the baby. Baby girl Barton weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long. It's such a relief when it's all over and everyone is healthy and doing well. We had a name that we liked, but were waiting to see her to make sure it fit. One look and we knew that she was indeed, our little Lana Faith.  The proud papa  Lana and mommy time  We're so glad you are here!  Kayley meeting Lana for the first time.  First family picture as a foursome  Beautiful baby  All set to go home! We were all doing so great that we left the hospital the next day. We...

Big Changes

Image
We had some pretty big changes this last month. Instead of living here: We live here: Instead of going to school here: Jeff is going to school here: And instead of working here: Jeff now works here: Jeff was offered a job at Zions's Bank in downtown Salt Lake City. He is working as a credit analyst in their National Real Estate Department. We moved down April 7th. We found a great house to rent, but it's not available until the beginning of June, so we are staying with Jeff's parents until then. Jeff still has three classes to take before he graduates, so he's taking them online this semester. Add that to working full-time and a new baby coming (not to mention trying to get settled in), and things are quite busy around here. Jeff LOVES his job, and we are so happy to live so close to family! We loved the time we spent in Rexburg and miss all our great friends, but we are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives.

Best Friends

Image
Kayley has a best friend. His name is Robert. Every day she asks if she can go play with him (she actually says his name. It's very cute). They are only 2 months apart (Kayley is August 21 and Robert is October 21), and they play together really well.  It helps that their moms are best friends too :) We babysat Robert the other week, and he and Kayley had a BLAST playing together all day.  They loved sitting on the bottom stair They would read books and bounce up and down It was so cute to see them laughing together It started raining, so they spent a lot of time at the window. See that look in Robert's eye? About two minutes later he leaned over and kissed Kayley on the cheek. It was very sweet, and I was bummed not to get a picture. We have been blessed to make such great friends here in Rexburg. We will miss them all so much when we leave.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Image
Our St. Patrick's Day started with green eggs, green hash browns, and toast with green butter, and included green outfits, shamrock earrings, and cabbage. Needless to say, we've had a great day :) And here is our little leprechaun ! Kayley's dress was made from one of Katie's old t-shirts  : ) We hope you all had a fun day filled with lots of green and lots of luck!

Birthday Fun!

Image
March 1st was Jeff's birthday. We had such a great day! Here's how it all went down: - Jeff got sent off to work with his birthday breakfast. - He heard on the radio that Mitt Romney was going to be in Idaho Falls at 1:00 and thought, "Hey, I'm in Idaho Falls!" So when work got out, he headed to the high school auditorium. There were about 300 people in front of him in line, and about 700 people behind him. He got inside and was handed a big Romney sign to wave around. Mitt walked out and he got to cheer and boo along with the crowd. There ended up being about 2,000 people there, so the energy was high, and Jeff had a great time. (pics from Jeff's phone) - When Jeff got home from the rally, all his fun birthday mail was waiting for him! - Then it was off to class. When he got home we headed to Idaho Falls for dinner. Jeff's choice? So good. - After returning home safe and sound from the blizzard (literally) we found in Idaho Falls, it ...
